Tanya Aguiñiga's Textile Forest opens at San Diego Children's Museum
May 8th, 2008
The Children's Museum in San Diego commissioned Tanya Aguiñiga to create a tactile fairytale forest for toddlers. Opening day was pure madness with a 3-hour wait, showing just how starved our cities are for world-class children's museums! The permanent installation posed innumerable challenges to the artist such as how to silkscreen a "log" AND have it be machine washable and super sturdy. Tanya rose to the occasion and the results are pure magic! It's worth a trip to San Diego. More information about the museum can be found here.
