We're INSPIRED for our 2nd anniversary!

Opening January 17, 2009 in celebration of its second anniversary Tinlark Gallery presents
INSPIRED, a group show featuring artwork curated by eight innovative design world bloggers.

When blogging first caught on in the late 90s the number of blogs stood at a modest hundred thousand. While current stats are as varied as the personalities of the blogs themselves, it's safe-ish to say that the number has climbed into the millions with readership, some say, in the billions. Notable arbiters, insiders, and pundits of arts, culture, style, politics, fashion, industry and celebrity bring us daily doses of their own unique brand of honed savvy. The art world is no stranger to the impact of the blogosphere; museums and art institutions are getting their blog on and the views and reviews of (some) bloggers are being duly noted. Democratic at its best, nonsense at its worst, for fade, fame, fact or fiction, the power of the cyber word is a force to be reckoned with. Bloggers have exponentially expanded the boundaries of the information super highway and inspired and informed us is ways which even Al Gore may have not fathomed.

Support from art and design bloggers has significantly contributed to Tinlark's success, garnering the gallery an active and international fan and collector base. In celebration of Tinlark's second anniversary, in homage and as an indebted nod to the influence of these bloggers, Tinlark gives a three-dimensional presence to the keen eye and artistic penchants of eight of the gallery's favorite cyber pals. As Tinlark Gallery owner Cris McCall puts it, they are the "curators of her day", so it seems fitting to have them curate the art for her second anniversary show, aptly located in Hollywood's own Crossroads of the World. Each participant will showcase the talent of one or two of her favorite emerging artists culled from across the country.
